Dog with 4 prosthetic legs
This is pretty cute. Apparently this pup was abandoned when his owners fled their foreclosed home. He got stuck in a frozen puddle in the basement, and had to have all 4 of his legs amputated :(.
Look at him now though, doing fine with 4 new prosthetics! YAY!

tUnE-yArDs Videos from Live @ KEXP sessions
I've been having a bit of a tUnE-yArDs obsession of late, and was happy to see some videos showing thier performance on KEXP.
I've always had a hard time explaining the way that Merrill Garbus loops her vocals and music to create a full feature piece.
Better then explaining is to watch her do it. Sarah and I saw her play at the Crocodile after she played on KEXP and the effect is intoxicating. I already loved the album, but seeing her do it live reinforced that feeling.

Controlling the flow of knowledge through copyright restrictions.
Lawrence Lessig gives a lecture at CERN titled: The Architecture of Access to Scientific Knowledge
Really great talk on how the publishing world is only serving to add to the bankroll of a few at the expense of access to knowledge.
As an aside I LOVE the examples of remixing that Lessig consistently finds. The Breakfast Club/Phoenix remix series is really awesome.

Bitcoin - P2P payment system
Directed via a Slashdot article (http://news.slashdot.org/story/11/03/23/0210207/Google-Engineer-Releases-Open-Source-Bitcoin-Client) about a Google engineer who created a Bitcoin client I started to read up on the Bitcoin concept.
It is actually really cool. It cuts the banks out of the equation making money transfer for transaction less expensive, less traceable, and more in your control.
